Lots of songs...

Hey all,
Brian here. So... First of all let's clear some stuff up. People have been asking things like "didn't you guys just release an album?" The answer is yes. We did in fact just release an EP in February 06 (visit Aware Store to order a copy). However, we are in fact starting work on a brand new full length album. We will begin recording it this July. To make this happen, we have basically been writing like madmen. To date, we have about 18 new song ideas in various stages of completion. We will be choosing our favorite 12 or so songs and releasing them as an album. We have been in contact with a few well known Boston area producers (no names yet!!!) to help guide our musical vision.

One thing that is very different about the new songs that we have been writing is that there are songs that use some of the same themes, almost like a concept album. It's pretty interesting to have songs reference each other. It's almost like certain songs have brothers and sisters. I honestly have no idea if any or all of these songs will make it onto the final album. One thing is for sure though. It will be interesting....It's a very new approach for us.

As for the process: Basically, Glenn and I have been living at my house writing like a couple of hermits. We have been drinking an unhealthy amount of iced lattes from dunkin donuts. Everyone has been coming up with really cool ideas. Writing a ton of music like this as a band is a really exciting endeavor. We have created the this really elaborate (and secret...) audio blog that we use to post our new ideas. Because we all have some kind of recording equipment now, when we get an idea, we just lay it down and post it on our super-secret site. That way we can all bounce around ideas and tell each other how awful we are. Just kidding.

If there is one thing I can say for sure it is that this is a time of GROWTH for Parkview. Almost all of us just graduated from Berklee a month or so ago. We were all pretty burned out by the end and we were hurting to do something creative (like write an entire album.) It is a chance for us to express ourselves. It is chance for us to grow as musicians and people. It is a chance to try some new ideas we have been kicking around for a while. It is also a chance for me to stop shredding.

Anyway, I'll keep you all posted with new stuff as it comes. Thats about all I can say at this point. ENJOY!!!
